New School Year, Less Stress

Parents and children can experience stress as they settle into a new school year.  Take some time out for all of you during this course set to help parents and students alike.

Research is beginning to find numerous benefits of mindfulness and yoga for children.  Some of these benefits include: Increased strength and flexibilityImproved balance, coordination and general body awarenessImproved sleeping patterns, Improved concentration, focus and attentionImproved self control and sense of calm, Decreased stress and anxiety, Boosted confidence and self esteemIncreased empathy and understanding of others, Improved overall sense of well-being

Meditation and visualization is also proven to relieve stress felt by many adults in most areas of their lives.  While the kids are stretching their bodies and minds, the parents will be working on decreasing stress and anxiety levels.

Miss Roxy, is a certified teacher in general elementary education as well as special education.  She has been trained through Mindful Schools as well as Childlight Yoga.  Her intention is to help children incorporate these strategies into their daily lives to improve their overall well-being and happiness.
